House 1101 in Barcelona

View all 18 Photos

Built by H Arquitectes in Barcelona, Spain, House 1101 is a home designed as an extension of the garden. Made up of three brick cubes, the structure frames outdoor living areas between volumes, spaces which can be left completely open or shielded by a retractable screen. The setup has multiple windows and points of exit, enhancing the fluidity between home and garden. The outdoor pool beckons, just as the kitchen calls the family inside. The interior walls are painted white and blends many of the same materials used outside, including brick, wood, and concrete, ultimately balancing naturalism and comfort.
