Hemen Biarritz is a French label that takes inspiration from tradition to design and manufacture premium, durable and elegant underwear garments for men. According to an old Basque legend, shepherds’ wives prepared undergarments that had the power to protect them from the elements during transhumance – the process of taking the sheep high up the mountains and bringing them back as the winter started to arrive.

The concept of ‘Slow Fashion’ is crucial for the company, not only because it emphasizes a rational method of consumption, but also because it correlates with the quality of their products.

The company aims to maintain the spirit of that legend alive with products that provide protection and ensure more comfort in all kinds of weather. Hemen means “here” in the Basque language, bringing together the past and the present in one brand that creates products for a modern man who appreciates style, tradition, durability, and convenience. The concept of ‘Slow Fashion’ is crucial for the company, not only because it emphasizes a rational method of consumption, but also because it correlates with the quality of their products. By using organic cotton and producing reduced quantities with a focus on premium quality, the company offers items that are designed to last. From traditional long johns to Henley shirts or long sleeve t-shirts, all of their cotton products are made with pesticide-free cotton carrying the Global Organic Textile Standard seal. Hemen’s success and loyal customer base are a testament of the label’s penchant for designing stylish products with a dedication to always maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship during all stages of the manufacturing process.
