Sculptural and plush chairs that celebrate 100 years of Bauhaus.

Part of Noom’s first furniture collection that pays homage to the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School, the Gropius chairs embody the concepts of of the movement in a sculptural form. Created by Noom co-founder Kateryna Sokolova, Gropius boasts rounded and cylinder shapes in a playful and bold design. In her furniture design work, the designer takes inspiration from the cultural legacy of the 20th century. “After the collection of light and decor which was dedicated to great suprematists, we launched our first furniture collection as a tribute to remarkable thinkers and designers from Bauhaus School,” explains Kateryna Sokolova.

The Gropius series includes a standard chair as well as a low chair version. Both designs feature cylindrical legs and backrests along with a rounded seat. Furthermore, the low chair comes with a spherical cushion and a spherical ottoman. While boasting strong geometric shapes, the chairs have curved ergonomic forms and a plush build that maximize comfort. The handcrafted Gropius chairs feature beautiful detailing and premium quality fabrics like wool, velvet, or Kvadrat bouclé. Customers can choose between monochrome or two-tone color palettes.

Color options range from light beige and cream to vibrant red, orange, lime green, or purple, making it easy to find the perfect hue to complement any décor. Regardless of color or fabric texture, every chair from the series looks like an art object in any space. The build combines wood and plywood with foam rubber and quality materials to stand up to the test of time. Named after famous modernist architects and artists, Noom’s furniture collection also includes the Brandt coffee table and the Gerrit sideboard. Photographs© Noom.
