An ingenious floor screen designed with built-in lighting and space for plant pots.

Offices, studios, and other work spaces often lack access to green areas. A new design that combines several products into one aims to solve that problem. Designed by Kauppi & Kauppi for Swedish brand Glimakra of Sweden, GreenFrame is a floor screen, plant pot holder, and light fixture. Naturally, it provides an eco-friendly solution to create a more relaxed atmosphere in work spaces.

The built-in lighting makes growing plants indoors during the winter months easy, especially in areas with fewer daylight hours. At the same time, this cleverly simple design offers a convenient way to bring a touch of nature into rooms with limited access to natural light. The minimalist ash wood frame allows the user to enhance the design in different ways. For exagemple, lush ferns, tropical orchids, or pots of cacti can each create a different visual effect. A choice between different plant pots can alter the look of the frame further.

More than just a versatile plant support, the frame offers an ingenious way to create more private areas in lounges and offices. Using the frame with larger leafy plants that help to diffuse sound can contribute to better room acoustics. The user can also install one or more units in a row thanks to the modular design. GreenFrame made its debut at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, but you can find it now in the Gessato Design Store. Photographs© Glimakra of Sweden.
