A custom bike designed for long-distance adventures.
While some custom builds prioritize aesthetics over function, this beautiful bike goes in a different direction. Designed by Officine Rossopuro, the ‘GranSasso’ Moto Guzzi Stelvio is the Italian workshop founder’s personal ride. It blends functional details, Italian style, and bespoke features effortlessly. Filippo Barbacane designed the bike for long-distance trips and has traveled around 100,000 kilometers in Europe so far. For optimal performance, he reduced the bike’s weight by an impressive amount, taking 70 kg off the motorcycle. Other changes include a re-crafted bodywork and plenty of aluminum parts to make the bike feel as light as possible.
The workshop also replaced the 4-valve engine which added too much weight to the build with an older 2-valve engine. The ‘GranSasso’ Moto Guzzi Stelvio features a removable subframe, premium quality suspension, Alpina tubeless rims, and TKC 70 tires. Made to handle anything a longer trip may throw its way, the bike boasts a large fuel tank with removable side covers. These not only protect the tank in case of an accident, but also provide the option to add storage spaces for tools or spare parts.
Other ingenious custom details include the adjustable seat, the option to add a passenger seat and pannier brackets, as well as a lightweight traditional light bulb for the headlight. The bike also has engine guards and a hidden space for a tool kit and rain suit. Every single detail is well thought-out, making this custom build a rare gem. Photographs© Filippo Barbacane.
