Gotland Summer House by DEVE Architecture

View all 7 Photos

A weathered barn in a picturesque meadow rests the Gotland Summer House. It was designed in 2011 by creative duo Helle Degn and Morten Vedelsbøl of DEVE from Denmark who keep to a design code grounded in context, social analysis, and sustainability. Comfortably nestled on the largest island of Sweden, the harmonious space incorporates an airy, open attitude with practical living. An impressive line up of panels are moveable extending the heart of the home from contained to free range. Either end of the barn hold the sleeping quarters, kitchen and washrooms. Beautiful white beams frame out the exposed vault ceilings. The spirit of relaxation permeates corner to corner in minimal decor and maximum nature.
