The Gorgeous UMC-029 ‘Kalifornia’ Bike By Untitled Motorcycles

Blending Californian vibes, reimagined retro accents and plenty of creativity, the UMC-029 ‘Kalifornia’ Bike By Untitled Motorcycles is a real head-turner. Based on a BMW R100 from 1983, this custom build takes the original to a new level of style.

At a glance, one instantly notices two things: the striking paint finish and the intentionally mismatched wheels. The choice of colors came from an unlikely source of inspiration. “Early in the design process, my client produced a photograph of a beautiful Porsche 356 in ‘Ivory’ with a tan interior. That image became a key inspiration for the Kalifornia’s color scheme,” says Hugo Eccles, founder of the San Francisco branch of Untitled Motorcycles. Thus, the bike features a solid cream tone on the fuel tank and original BMW Motorsport stripes modernized with a deep metallic flake and brushed UMC badges. A tan hide saddle from Acker Leather Works completes the color scheme.

But ‘Kalifornia’ is not just eye candy. It features a range of custom pieces as well as numerous upgrades. After striping the entire bike, Eccles and his team crafted a custom subframe and seat, steel battery box, and a gorgeous UMC headlight. Other additions include an analogue Motogadget speedometer, braided stainless steel HT leads, mismatched wheels, as well as Tommaselli natural rubber grips. The motorcycle made its debut at the One Motorcycle Show in Portland earlier this year and will surely turn heads for years to come. Photography by Sean Donahue. Photo credits: Untitled Motorcycles.
