Giraffe Floor Lamp by Bernhard Burkard

View all 8 Photos

Move aside swing arm lamps! There’s a new kid on the block that can throw a hard punch. Giraffe Floor Lamp, designed by architecture firm Bernhard Burkard, derives its flexibility and functionality from a scissor system much like the cartoonish, extendable boxing glove. The lamp’s head can rise in curiosity with the turn of a hand crack located near the skinny wooden legs of the creature. The angled shade adds even more character to the lamp’s already animalistic appearance, and imposes a cute look of curiosity on the “giraffe.” Imagine having one of these look over your shoulder when you’re immersed in your evening reading.
