Faliro Loft by Esé Studio

View all 13 Photos

Grids, grids, grids! Faliro Loft demonstrates a number of variations on the grid as a means of showcasing dimension, texture, and materiality. The loft is designed by Esé Studio in Athens, and the interiors are decorated with the work of Patricia Urquiola. The exposed concrete beams overhead run create a macro-grid, whereas a wooden hatching decorates the adjacent wall while letting light into the room. Even the kitchen counter features a uniform black tiling, though the regularity is contrasted by an urban street map etched into the stone that paves the courtyard. A mosaic stone wall frames the transitory space as an overhead pattern of metal scales offer partial shelter for the patio.
