Faccia Brutto – Italian Spirits Made in Brooklyn

View all 6 Photos

A collection of handcrafted spirits with an Italian soul.

Established by Patrick Miller, former Executive Chef at Rucola, Faccia Brutto Spirits is a Brooklyn, NYC-based distillery that makes handcrafted, Old World Italian spirits. The founder’s Italian-American upbringing, wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, and passion for Italian spirits led to the creation of a beautifully balanced collection of liquors. The products revive old recipes and aim to become staples – both in home bars and restaurants.

Carefully chosen, the ingredients are organic as well as high-quality and sourced from the foraging experts at Foraged & Found Edibles. From amari to aperitivi and digestivi, every Faccia Brutto spirit is crafted by hand in Brooklyn. The distillery also puts a focus on sustainable production methods, integrating recycling and composting as much as possible. The team aims to gain a B-corp certification and reach a carbon neutral status in the near future.

Faccia Brutto collaborated with Garrett Elizabeth Office on the brand’s visual identity. Tips from bartenders contributed to the bottle design, which needed to be both distinctive and comfortable to handle frequently. Playful and stylish, the packaging has subtle apothecary cues as well as bold graphics and contrasting colors that make the bottles stand out from the (liquor) crowd.
