Purposeful design, minimalist aesthetics and eco-friendly materials come together in the Utility collection of chairs and stools.
Here at Gessato, we’re big fans of Jasper Morrison’s work; we even had the privilege to talk with the celebrated designer about his ‘super normal’ design philosophy. When we learned of another collaboration with Emeco, we were excited to see results. Safe to say, the Utility series checks all the right boxes. Minimalist and versatile, the collection brings a new visual language to the Emeco collection while incorporating the brand’s signature square section tube frames in the designs along with eco-friendly materials, of course.
Simple and ‘super normal’ to fit into any décor with ease, the Utility side chairs and stools also draw attention with a combination of aluminum and solid wood. Handmade in Hanover, Pennsylvania, this series features Emeco’s beautifully crafted frames in 80% recycled aluminum. Lightweight but sturdy and durable, the aluminum frames come in a range of finishes, including hand-brushed and powder-coated. The solid wood seats and backrests add warmth to the design with distinctive textures and color variations typical of the natural material. Emeco also offers various options for the wood sections, with customers able to choose from white oak, ash, dark stained ash, walnut, or the outdoor-friendly accoya wood.
Crafted to handle high-traffic areas in style, the Utility collection of side chairs and stools suits both residential spaces and public settings like cafés or restaurants. Every product from the series is handmade to order, with frame options also including Emeco’s in-house powder-coated colors, available upon request.
