The Emeco Truss Collection

View all 24 Photos

A multifunctional collection of modular tables, benches, and sofas designed for virtually any space.

Designed by Paris-based brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Emeco, the company responsible for the iconic Navy Chair, the Truss collection perfectly combines a minimalist aesthetic with multifunctional design. The range comprises modular benches, tables, and sofas that are both timeless and incredibly versatile. Like its name suggests, the collection’s signature element is a traditional truss system made of aluminum. Durable Douglas fir plywood panels add warmth to the design along with impressive stability.

Thanks to the modular design and three available sizes, users can combine the benches, sofas, and tables to create large social spaces where people can come together. The collection also includes a low coffee table designed for living rooms and lounge spaces. Simple but engineered to fulfill multiple purposes, the collection suits residential and commercial settings as well as indoor and outdoor areas.

In true Emeco fashion, the sustainable range features recycled aluminum parts made in the company’s own factory in Hanover, Pennsylvania. A testament to Emeco’s almost 80 years of aluminum manufacturing experience, the furniture boasts finely perforated metal panels as well as soft corners. The marine-grade Douglas fir plywood sourced from the US makes the collection suitable for outdoor use. Apart from Emeco’s signature hand-brushed finish, the Truss series also comes with powder-coated finishes. The colors suit various spaces, from the neutral White and Dark Gray to the vibrant Orange and Green.

For the Douglas fir plywood panels, the company offers a natural or a dark stain finish. Upholstered cushions in leather and neutral or bright fabrics enhance the comfort of the sofas and benches further. Naturally, the company also offers outdoor-friendly upholstery options. You’ll be able to find the Emeco Truss collection online starting from early next year. Photographs© Emeco.
