A minimalist chair inspired by mid-century modern design.
Designed by Alexander Zhukovsky, founder of studio Figuron, Duran is a minimalist and eye-catching lounge chair that references both mid-century modern design and the classic loft style. The designer has created the chair for Artu. While the furniture brand mainly focuses on making products for the HoReCa segment, this chair suits any space, including residential settings. Clean and understated but also full of personality, the lounge chair features a chromed steel frame with thin rods that create a lightweight and sculptural frame. At the back, the metal structure curves slightly before it meets the backrest.
Both the seat and the backrest are crafted from plywood with an oak veneer. Made with an ergonomic shape, they enhance seating comfort. The backrest has a subtly angled position to provide excellent support. At the same time, the pronounced curvature of the back and seat give the chair a distinctive look. Naturally, Duran stands out in any interior, whether it’s a living room or a meeting room. Artu manufactures the Duran series of lounge chairs in two standard versions. Apart from the natural version that features a warm color and visible grain textures, the chair comes in black; the dark finish still lets the tactility of the oak veneer shine. However, customers can also request the chair in different colors. Photography © Artu.
