Immersive Elegance: Exploring the Dance of Light and Color in Design
A must-visit event for international and Italian design lovers, Milan Design Week will once again be graced by the presence of Draga & Aurel, as they showcase their latest work, “Color Waterfall,” at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery during the RoCOLLECTIBLE event. Drawing inspiration from Brian Eno’s Lighting Boxes, the design duo has created an immersive experience where design objects and artworks seamlessly blend together.
The collection highlights new products designed by Draga & Aurel, featuring an interplay of light and color. These exclusive creations include the Ray lamp, Tito love seat, and Baia coffee table and console. The exhibition also features new color variants of well-known pieces such as the Joylight capsules, Beba armchairs, and one-of-a-kind Heritage items.
The pièce de résistance of the exhibit is the ultra-limited edition Rainbow table, with only two pieces on display. Draga Obradovic describes this creation as “lightness, relief, and joy” after a period of creative struggle.
Ray Lamp: Minimalist light rods made from liquid epoxy resin poured in three stages, creating stunning visual compositions and an immersive luminous experience.
Tito Love Seat: A curvy and sumptuous “love seat” designed for two, inspired by river stones and featuring a cylindrical backrest for a comfortable embrace.
Baia Coffee Table & Console: A play on materials and geometric shapes, these pieces feature a thick, colored resin base paired with raw cement and transparent acrylic legs for a light yet monumental look.
Rainbow Table: A one-of-a-kind piece inspired by the colorful minimalist acrylic sculptures of Vasa Mihich, featuring a 1980s marble base designed by Maurizio Cattelan, topped with an acrylic resin top that captures and refracts light, producing beautiful reflections and hues.
