Naoto Fukasawa, a visionary and influential figure in the world of design, has left an indelible mark on the industry with his unique approach and exceptional creations. Naoto Fukasawa, born in Yamanashi, Japan, in 1956, completed his studies at Tama Art University in 1980. He started his illustrious career at Seiko Epson, focusing on cutting-edge design development. In 1989, Fukasawa moved to the United States, joining ID Two (now IDEO San Francisco) and later establishing IDEO’s Tokyo office in 1996. In 2003, he founded Naoto Fukasawa Design.

Fukasawa’s designs span across electronics, furniture, interiors, and architecture, collaborating with leading brands worldwide. His design philosophy encompasses concepts like “Without Thought,” and he has consistently showcased his innovative ideas through workshops and publications. Today, he holds prominent positions in various organizations, including The Japan Folk Crafts Museum, Tama Art University, and 21_21 Design Sight.
