Miyake Design

Tokyo, Japan

Miyake Design is a studio established in 2005 by Kazushige Miyake. The design firm completes a wide range of projects for well-known brands. Projects include furniture, lighting and home accessories for Muji; audio products for Yamaha; alarm clocks for Stelton; and headphones for Pioneer DJ. The studio has designed objects as varied as pens, bicycles, kitchenware, and timepieces. All of the designs, however, share some crucial details: minimalist aesthetics, clean lines, and a focus on functional features. The studio’s work also features a playful use of color combined with an exploration of distinctive forms.
