Marte.Marte Architects was built by the brothers Bernhard Marte and Stefan Marte, and they completed their architecture studies at the Technical University in Innsbruck. In 1993 the joint office was founded in Weiler, a small Rhine Valley community in Vorarlberg (AT).
Both were active on the board of the Central Association of Architects in Vorarlberg. Stefan Marte has been President of the Vai – Vorarlberger Architektur Institut since 2005. The projects by Marte.Marte Architekten covers a wide range of private houses, office and infrastructure buildings to cultural objects. Their designs are characterized by rigid abstraction, reduction, and an unmistakable understanding of the respective location.
