Knu Kim

Madrid, Spain

Knu Kim, originally from Busan, South Korea’s second largest city, has called Europe home for over a decade. Now residing in Madrid, Spain, his third home after Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Knu leads a vibrant life. He runs a small footwear brand, Paracia, while also carving a niche as a design strategist and educator. However, photography holds a special place in his heart.

His recent project offers an authentic snapshot of Madrid, showcasing the city’s diverse facets. Working with his friend and Madrileño Félix, he photographed three distinct neighbourhoods, intending to break away from cliché Spanish images. The collaboration extended to videographer Jaime Venegas, amplifying the project’s impact with dynamic visuals.

Inspired by artists like Saul Leiter and Jack Davison, Knu merges photography with a painter’s touch, projecting stunning and unique perspectives. A true global citizen, Knu’s work reveals the interplay of cultures and landscapes in Madrid, celebrating the city’s multifaceted identity.
