Founded in 2020 by Jonas Djernes and Justine Bell, Djernes & Bell is a Copenhagen-based architecture studio focused on working with what already exists—buildings, materials, ecosystems, and communities. Their practice is rooted in low-carbon and regenerative approaches, exploring how architecture can take part in repairing the environmental and social damage of the last century. Prior to launching the studio, both founders worked at award-winning practices in London and Copenhagen, and have collaborated on independent projects around the world. Today, they work at the intersection of material localism, cultural memory, and craft, with a strong belief in architecture as a tool for stewardship and connection.
