Denis Joelsons

Denis Joelsons is a distinguished architect and educator with a rich academic and professional background. He earned his Master’s degree in History and Fundamentals of Architecture and Urbanism from FAUUSP, São Paulo in 2017. Joelsons is also the author of the book “Arquitetura e Luto na obra de Adolf Loos,” and has been an influential voice in Brazilian modern architecture, teaching a course at MASP in 2020. He has served as a faculty member at Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo de Santos FAUS – Unisantos (2018-2019) and also at FAUUSP (2016), contributing to the advancement of architectural education. Joelsons graduated from the Escola da Cidade in 2010, where he later served as an assistant professor (2011-2014). Notably, he was part of the curatorial and research teams for the X São Paulo Architecture Biennial (2013) and the exhibition “The Insides are on the Outside” (2012), which focused on the work of Lina Bo Bardi. Since 2014, he has operated his own architecture firm, building on his extensive collaborations with various São Paulo-based architectural offices
