Atelier Central (AC) is an architecture and design firm based in Lisbon, Portugal. Founded in 1996 by architect José Martinez Silva, the studio completes an array of international projects that range from residential housing to hotels and resorts, industrial, public, corporate, educational, and office buildings, urban planning, and more. Putting the site’s history, cultural context and natural surroundings at the heart of each project, the studio creates minimalist and timeless spaces, each with its idiosyncratic character. The practice has won international competitions and has received many awards, including the 2017 American Architecture Prize – The Firm of the Year Award, the Conde de Oeiras Award, and the Valmor Award.
