An exclusive, limited-edition electric motorbike designed with a dynamic silhouette and creative details inspired by video games.
First introduced in 2021, when it also won a Red Dot Design Award, the DAB Motors Concept-E bike is now making its official debut in a limited run of only 400 bikes. Renamed DAB 1α, the electric motorcycle features a series of upgrades over the original prototype. Made by skilled artisans in a workshop within the historic Peugeot Motorcycles factory in Beaulieu Mandeure, France, the e-bike merges state-of-the-art technology with an aerodynamic design, offering an exceptional riding experience.
In terms of aesthetics, this electric motorcycle impresses with an angular seat covered in premium Alcantara, which also appears on the glove box. At the front, the headlight takes the spotlight with an oversized rectangular form. On the handlebars, controls inspired by video game consoles provide access to the different riding modes, which include Nitro – another nod to video games, the popular EA racing game Need for Speed.
Optimized for efficiency and longevity, the battery also allows easy repairs. DAB Motors produces the batteries in France with the goal to minimize their environmental impact, as users can repair, replace, and recycle them with ease. In terms of performance, the DAB 1α battery charges from 0% to 80% in around 2.5 hours. On a full charge, it offers a range of 150 km, or 93 miles. This e-motorcycle can reach a speed of 130 km/h or 80 mph and has a torque of 395 Nm at wheel. Other features include a 2.8’’ LCD screen; a monocoque body that also features carbon fiber parts for a lower weight; a Peugeot Motorcycles Dual ABS system; and 17” spoked wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires.
If you want to purchase one of the 400 DAB 1α motorcycles, you can get on the waiting list at DAB Motors. Prices start at €14,900, or just over $16,000. Photography by David Duchon Doris.
