Antwerp, Belgium
World-renowned architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium. After completing his studies at the Architecture Institute Saint-Lucas in Ghent and working with Jean-Jacques Hervy and Jean De Meulderhe in Belgium and Aldo Cibic in Milan, he founded his own studio in 1990. Van Duysen’s work is incredibly varied and includes family homes, commercial spaces for iconic fashion designers and brands, interior design as well as furniture and lighting design for numerous international companies. He rejects the label of ‘minimalism’, preferring instead to put an emphasis on discovering the essence of things while maintaining their soul and a distinct sense of comfort intact. In 2016, Vincent Van Duysen took on the role of creative director of the Italian furniture and design company Molteni&C and was named Designer of the Year at Biennale Interieur.
