Stephen Burks is an award-winning designer. He studied architecture and product design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Columbia University. Following the completion of his studies, he traveled extensively and lived in Tokyo and Milan. After renowned Italian brand Cappellini produced his first designs, he embarked on a prolific career as an independent designer. Stephen Burks has worked with some of the world’s best known companies, including B&B Italia, Calvin Klein, Missoni, Harry Winston, and Estée Lauder. His designs have been exhibited around the world, including at Art Basel/Design Miami, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Philadelphia Art Museum, and Salone del Mobile. Stephen Burks has received many awards for his work, including the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award and the Brooklyn Museum Modernism Young Designer Award. The designer became a Harvard Loeb Fellow in 2019.
