Faulkner Architects

Berkeley, United StatesCA

Architect Greg Faulkner established Faulkner Architects in 1998 with the aim to design expertly crafted spaces that celebrate their local context. The studio puts an emphasis on a close creative process between the client, architect, and builder which allows clients to become deeply engaged in the design stage. Inspired by vernacular architecture, the studio’s designs blend into their setting while providing a contemporary twist on tradition. The projects also feature a blend of thoughtful design, simple forms, and rich textures. Expansive openings that welcome nature inside living spaces and make striking settings a part of the interior design also define many of Faulkner Architects’ projects. The firm’s work has received worldwide recognition. Prestigious awards include AIA California Council Residential Honor awards and a LEAF Residential Building–Single Occupancy House of the Year award. Publications that have featured the studio’s work include Architectural Digest and Elle Décor Italy, among others.
