The Contour Chair Collection

An indoor/outdoor seating collection inspired by mid-century metal chairs.

Designed by Giles Pearson for family-run British furniture company Origin, the Contour chair collection offers the perfect blend of modern style and everyday convenience. The company produces contemporary furniture for hospitality, educational, and office settings. As the brand’s design director, Pearson creates products that complement clean aesthetics with versatility and function. Crafted in the UK, the Origin line comprises high-quality designs that are both durable and made with sustainability in mind. The Contour collection is no exception. This range draws inspiration from the iconic lines of mid-century metal chairs, featuring a combination of tubular frames and slender wire seats.

Thanks to the latest advancements in tube bending techniques, the designer could easily maximize comfort with a distinctive seat shape and backrest curvature. Simple but also industrial in style, the chairs look great in a wide range of spaces. The powder-coated steel build ensures that the line suits both indoor and outdoor use, from offices to restaurant terraces. Plus, the chairs stack to minimize floor space in storage, making carrying several chairs easier at the same time. This collection is also sustainable, as Origin used 50% recycled metal for the chairs. Contour comprises dining chairs, dining armchairs, stools, lounge chairs, and lounge armchairs. Customers can choose between neutral or brighter colors: Black Grey, Papyrus White, Red Orange, Reed Green, and Signal Yellow. Photographs© Origin Furniture.
