A modern dentist office design that draws inspiration from the warmth and coziness of residential spaces.
Determined to reimagine the cold, clinical dentist office typology through the lens of residential interior design, Atelier Échelle has transformed Clinique Monkland into a warm and welcoming space. Located in Montreal, Canada, this orthodontic clinic features completely redesigned interiors. Referencing the coziness of a home setting, this modern dentist office design makes patients feel more at ease and relaxed.
The entrance area welcomes patients with a curved walnut wood reception desk and comfortable benches upholstered with a green velvet fabric. In order to create the feeling of an intimate living room, the studio preserved the original fireplace, designed custom seating, and introduced a shelving system for books, vases, and decorative items. Fluted glass walls separate areas, providing privacy while filtering the light at the same time. Additionally, thick velvet curtains conceal the technical areas of this modern dentist office design from the public spaces.
In the treatment room, the studio used the same green/warm brown palette. Apart from wood floors, the space features a ceiling with a timber grid pattern and integrated lighting. Leather chairs ensure optimal comfort during examinations and treatments. Pale green cabinets add a touch of color, while the bay window that frames a brick wall covered in climbing plants brings nature into the space. Elegant and finished with a tactile material palette, this modern dentist office design transforms the classic orthodontic clinic into an inviting space filled with warmth.
