Founded in 2001 in sunny Los Angeles, CLAE has quickly transformed from a small, independent company into a popular brand thanks to timeless designs, premium materials and a penchant for creating comfortable and stylish footwear, or “smart essentials fit for the modern man.” To mark its 15th anniversary, the company has planned an array of special events, creative collaborations, and a few surprises for 2016. But you won’t have to wait long, as the festivities have already begun with the launch of the new Spring collection.
The brand’s iconic minimalist construction still dominates the designs, enhanced by the use of mixed materials and different textures. The color palette features neutral shades, earthy tones, and a few vibrant accents in a combination of classic and modern vibes. There are four new and special designs that deserve a special mention.
The Bradley sneaker offers a stylish take on the classic court shoe. Made with a leather grain upper, it has a contrasting neoprene heel, added for both comfort and aesthetic reasons. Perfect for adventures, the new Morgan features a perforated synthetic suede boat shoe upper in navy or walnut, and a lightweight running outsole. Weighing slightly under 8 oz, the Morgan is ideal for bringing a touch of style to your outdoor activities. The Lenard sneaker cleverly infuses the classic cap-toe design with refinement while adding a touch of elegance reminiscent of a stylish menswear dress shoe. Made from the highest quality leather in curry and black, the sneaker will suit smart, casual, or chic outfits in equal measure. Last, but certainly not least, the new Garvey SP is perhaps the most significant addition to the collection, as it is an upgraded design of the original slip-on sneaker from 2001. It comes with a rich suede upper and leather details in a simple design that is set to become a modern classic. You can take a look at the new collection here. All images courtesy of CLAE.
