The Céramique Lamp Collection

A series of three handmade lamps designed with a playful expression that enhances the tactility of lacquered ceramic.

Designed by Ronan Bouroullec for lighting brand Flos, the Céramique lamp collection brings together the purity of simple, modern forms with the tactility of glossy lacquer. Like the series’ name suggests, the Céramique table lamps are made from ceramic. However, instead of the rough surface of unglazed ceramic, the lamps boast a perfectly smooth and shiny coating that reflects the light subtly. The lacquered finish not only adds a refined touch to the minimalist design, but also protects the ceramic body from scratches and wear. Additionally, these lamps are easy to keep spotless and free of dust.

The Céramique collection comprises three designs: Down, Up, and Side. While the Céramique Down lamp illuminates downward and it’s perfect to brighten specific areas on a desk or table for focused work or reading, Céramique Up creates a cozy mood by shining its light toward the ceiling. Finally, the Céramique Side table lamp can change the atmosphere of a space depending on position, whether it directs the light toward the room or the wall. All three lamps feature the same circular base, flat vertical stem and bell-shaped shade as well as a dimming feature. Flos offers the Céramique in three beautiful colors that each enhance the design in different ways: Moss Green, Navy Blue and Rust Red. Photography © Flos.
