Casa FOA 2012: “Home Office” by Estudio Nidolab

View all 14 Photos

Behind the screen, are you dreaming of a fine weather place, with creation at your fingertips? Maybe it’s anchored off the bay, watching the gulls laugh on the shore line, or perhaps you’re asleep in a hammock outside a well appointed lodge in the smokies, drifting off to images of fluffy treetops and the chatter of woodland creatures bustling about. Whatever your mind escapes to, may your desk find its way to your soft spot in the way Estudio Nidolab has orchestrated for this spectacular home office in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The squared off wooden poles reach down from the ceiling to hold up a generous conference table. Light panels above resemble a glowing sun in their yellow tint, whereas the hard wood deck-like platform below brings focus on the work. An undisturbed walk way surrounds the perimeter appearing as water, natural and flowing. This harmonious design elevates the attitude of the office, keeping the chatter at bay, bringing a greater dedication to the task at hand. An organic arrangement clings to the peninsula, where the rug appears like a collection of mosses in varying shades. A few potted plants along with the drift wood bench set a patio space, it breaks the ice a little, giving you an excuse to step away from the work and brainstorm while gazing out the window panes ahead. All in all, we are served a piece of oasis to chillax the mood of every Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. Photography © Federico Kulekdjian
