Compact trailers that reference boat designs and tiny houses.
Launched by French company Carapate, these two trailers offer the ideal solution to camp in style and comfort. The Carapate and Carriole trailers draw inspiration from watercraft design and tiny houses. They feature a curved wooden frame with a yacht-like varnish and a weather-resistant film. Compact and convenient, the travel trailer small lightweight design maximizes their footprint with many ingenious features.
Fabien Denis and Jean-Marie Reymond designed the trailers with both interior and exterior drawers, practical compartments, and hidden storage. The user can also remove a mattress to expand the space. Large windows and a skylight bring natural light in the interior while providing a perfect solution to admire the views, from mountainous landscapes to the starry sky at night. Thanks to a sliding drawer, the kitchen can easily transform from an indoor feature to an outdoor one.
While the Carapate model comes with the standard features, the Carriole version has fewer fittings and thus a more airy feel. However, the company offers an easy solution to customize either one of the trailers with optional items. These include anything from a battery system that makes off-grid camping easy and comfortable, to the blackout curtains, an extra mattress, and more storage spaces. For the kitchen, Carapate offers the option to add water storage, dinnerware, a folding sink, and a cooler. Available now in various European countries, the Carapate travel trailer small lightweight camper costs $16,500, while the Carriole model has a $12,500 price tag. Photographs© Carapate.
