Organic and elegant at the same time, the Bound collection by Carnevale Studio features solid wood pendant lights with undulating sections brought together in a precise design. A feat of creativity and craftsmanship, the pendants take inspiration from nature – a forested area in San Francisco with fog rolling through the trees before scattering at the appearance of the sun – as well as from several creative sources.
“Eames’ iconic plywood chair, the undulations on the top of a cello, Richard Serra’s sheet steel installations and Eva Hesse’s sculptures – all were inspirations,” explains designer and studio founder Jessica Carnevale.
Made of cherry, walnut or maple, the pendants display gorgeous grain patterns and the unmistakable warmth of wood, while brass parts connect the sections and add an industrial vibe. Inside, hand-blown glass bulbs shine with a golden glow, illuminating living spaces to make them look welcoming as well as relaxing. Designed in California, the lighting range was assembled in New York. The Bound collection made it grand entrance in a grand way, at Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2017.
