The reimagining of a longboard as a sculptural mirror.
Polish design firm Zieta Studio uses a proprietary metal inflating technology to create interdisciplinary objects that are functional yet also tell a story. With Bolid, the practice explores the concept of movement, bringing together the familiar shape of a longboard and the reflective surface of a mirror. Originally designed for the Milan flagship store of iconic Italian brand Pirelli, this unusual mirror is now ready to enter residential spaces.
The design defies classification, seamlessly merging two ordinary objects in one sculpted shape that also serves a functional purpose. Made with the FiDU proprietary technology, each Bolid mirror has a unique form, weight, color variations, and detailing created by inflating sheets of steel to the desired shape. Oblong and dynamic, the static object symbolizes the idea of movement, thus surpassing a purely decorative function. Creating a parallel between the purpose of a longboard and the reflection that mirrors the movement inside a lived-in space, Bolid is as playful as it is distinctive.
Polished to a mirror shine, the Bolid perfectly reflects its surroundings. This sculptural mirror can be mounted or just placed against a wall. Crafted from steel, it features aluminum trucks and white wheels in the silver inox version, but also comes with an emerald green finish with green or black wheels. Either way, the Zieta Studio Bolid mirror fits into modern spaces with ease, adding the perfect artistic accent that makes any décor look inspiring while acting as a conversations starter.
