A Fusion of Design and Sustainability: Meet the New BMW Bike That’s Electrifying City Streets
In the rapidly evolving world of urban transportation, BMW’s latest innovation, the CE 02 electric bike, arrives as a stunning testament to forward-thinking design and engineering. Following the launch of the CE 04 electric scooter, this latest offering signals BMW’s unwavering commitment to pioneering sustainable mobility solutions.
BMW Motorrad has designed the CE 02 with a futuristic and unique aesthetic, breaking free from the traditional classifications of e-bikes. Its powerful, yet stylish stature is neither e-motorbike nor e-scooter, but what the company call an ‘eParkourer,’ specifically tailored for the modern city’s busy streets.
The aesthetic appeal of the CE 02 is a striking harmony of contrasts. Large wheels and minimalist design elements combine to give the bike a robust, athletic look. The distinct color combinations further elevate the visual drama – a sleek black base color combined with subtle tones of metallic matte granite gray. The specially designed HIGHLINE version takes aesthetics to a new level with gold anodized forks and a vibrant tape design, adding a dash of flamboyance to the bike’s dynamic appeal.
A gorgeous bike that also performs beautifully.
When it comes to performance, the CE 02 doesn’t hold back. Offering two performance variants – an 11 kW and a 4 kW version – the bike caters to a range of rider preferences and needs. The 11 kW variant is designed for quick accelerations and a top speed of 95 km/h, making it a zippy companion for city rides, while the 4 kW version is more subdued, limited to 45 km/h to comply with AM driving license requirements.
CE 02 also stands out with its riding modes. The “Flow” mode provides an optimal setup for a relaxed cruise amidst urban traffic, whereas the “Surf” mode delivers a more dynamic riding experience for the more adventurous rider. A third mode, “Flash,” is also available for those craving an extra dash of sportiness.
The CE 02’s design is further enhanced by its functional and structural elements. Constructed with a sturdy double-loop frame of tubular steel, the bike showcases a robust chassis design, characterized by its front-end hydraulically damped telescopic forks and a singular rear swingarm. Charging solutions include a standard external charger and an optional quick charger for added convenience.
The bike’s high-tech cockpit is equipped with an easy-to-read TFT display, a USB-C charging port, and a suite of connectivity solutions through the BMW Motorrad Connected app. The BMW CE 02 is not merely a mode of transport; it’s a statement of design innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement, a bike set to electrify city streets and enhance urban mobility.
