A design studio and furniture brand that values quality and sustainability, Bestcase makes customizable metal furniture that suits any need and space.

Typically used in offices and industrial settings like workshops, metal furniture has become increasingly more popular for residential spaces. And that’s thanks to brands like New York-based design studio and furniture manufacturer Bestcase. The company aims to provide flexible and customizable furniture solutions for a variety of spaces, focusing on crafting premium quality products that can easily become heirloom items. The brand oversees the entire manufacturing process, ensuring the quality of each piece of furniture. At the same time, every product has a lower carbon footprint as Bestcase designs and builds all furniture locally, in New York.

Flexibility is a core feature of all Bestcase furniture. Naturally, the ingenuity of the signature designs also opens up a wide range of customization possibilities. Starting from an existing furniture design, the company can create unique pieces without affecting the lead time or the final cost. Using state-of-the-art design and manufacturing techniques, Bestcase makes minimalist metal furniture with methods that range from laser cutting and 3D printing to traditional welding and millwork. And the result? Beautifully crafted furniture that is as durable as it is timeless.

The Bestcase furniture collection includes a variety of designs for residential, office, or commercial settings.

Named Core, the Bestcase debut collection was launched in 2019. Made from either hot rolled or cold rolled steel, these pieces of furniture keep sturdiness and longevity in perfect balance with versatility. The minimalist designs suit a variety of spaces and provide a convenient way to create an efficient workspace, whether at home, at the office, or in a studio. The Core range comprises mobile and stationary tables, shelving systems, and a media cabinet. All of the products feature a durable, VOC-free powder-coated finish.

The Scaffold collection refines the industrial element that inspired its name to offer elegant furniture solutions for both offices and modern homes. Made from lightweight aluminum or steel, the products come flat-packed to minimize costs and packaging. Apart from tables and shelving, this collection also includes a desk. Solid oak tops add warmth to metal frames, while different color options provide a fun way to customize the designs.

Inspired by pleated fabrics, the Pleat collection has a bolder look. The Pleat coffee table, dining table, conference table and console all feature segmented bases and pillars designed with planar elements. Manufactured from aluminum, the sturdy columns provide excellent support to solid wood or marble tops. This collection also includes planters with a matching design.

Perhaps the most striking and sculptural range among all Bestcase collections, Foundation comprises eye-catching seating, tables, shelving and home accessories. While made from aluminum with traditional sheet metal techniques, the products come in different finishes and textures. The Foundation collection includes a variety of products, from a brutalist-style Fluke Chair inspired by the Eames LCM chair to the Foundation Barstool that resembles an industrial component or the Echo Mantle mirror that seems to melt to create an integrated shelf.

A creative collection made in collaboration with visionary designers.

Bestcase also collaborates with other designers to create innovative and distinctive designs. Teaming up with magazine Sight Unseen, the company has launched a series of tables, consoles, mirrors, chairs, and a bar cart that bring an artistic and architectural sensibility to furniture design.

Designed by Swiss creative duo Thévoz-Choquet for the Sight Unseen collection, the Frame Table and Frame Console take inspiration from the work of artist Fred Sandback. These pieces of furniture feature slim tubular bases with angular and rounded forms and customizable color finishes. Glass tops enhance the lightness and transparency of these designs that also explore the perception of negative space. Created by Bestcase co-founder Charles Constantine, the Magna Chair references ancient Roman seating. Made from satin aluminum, the chair also features a plush cushion with sheepskin upholstery.

This collection also comprises the minimalist Slab Mirror and the Brut bar cart. Created by Home Studios, the mirror blends curved and rectilinear forms in an elegant design. Finally, Studio Anansi’s Brut bar cart gives a nod to the clean shapes of Brutalist architecture, combining brushed stainless steel with semi-translucent resin in an eye-catching design.

Customization options to create the perfect design for a specific space.

A standout feature of Bestcase products, apart from their versatility, quality and low carbon footprint, is the ability to customize designs for different spaces and color palettes. For example, some tables allow users to choose different materials for the tops, with options ranging from metal to solid wood or marble. Naturally, Bestcase offers the option to complete the metal furniture with different finishes and colors. Options include brushed, matte, satin and polished as well as powder-coated or waxed. As for colors, customers can order their furniture in standard or bespoke hues. Items with upholstery are also available with a COM option. Finally, all products are made to order to minimize waste and are manufactured in New York. Photographs © Bestcase.
