The B-TD Lighting Collection

Minimalist and refined lighting designed with a blend of materials and textures.

Founded by designer Jonathan Ben-Tovim, B-TD is a Melbourne-based lighting and furniture brand that produces minimal designs for 21st century interiors. The lighting collection is specially designed to adapt to different spaces and to stand up to the test of time. Understated and versatile at the same time, the products often combine metal and stone. Others feature intricate metal structures that give a sculptural look to the designs. All items are as refined and creative as they are functional. The company makes every product to order, with all of the lighting carefully assembled by hand in B-TD’s Melbourne studio. Furthermore, the brand uses locally sourced materials wherever possible.

Inspired by Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, Jonathan Ben-Tovim created the Fold Table Lamp with angular forms reminiscent of the film’s cyberpunk architecture. The lamp combines stone and metal in a minimalist design that features folded aluminum fins that wrap around a stone base and reflect the light back and forward within this architectural structure. The lamp comes in two versions; while one combines gray marble with an anodized aluminum top, the other pairs raw travertine with brushed aluminum.

The Formation series also blends metal and marble or travertine in elegant ways. More specifically, in the Formation Wall Sconce and the Formation Floor Lamp. For the Formation Chandelier as well as the Formation Stick Pendant, the designer used only aluminum. However, the material boasts different textures and finishes to complement the warmth of the light. Other products from the B-TD lighting collection include pendants inspired by the shape of diamonds or the vintage designs of the industrial age; spherical lights with decorative metal mesh elements; or minimalist lighting that pairs circular and tubular forms.
