Supporting the next generation of designers with beautifully designed products.

In 2019, Modernica joined the design club of the Autotype collective. To celebrate the occasion, the two companies launched a special collection that will benefit design students as well as other future creatives. The Autotype x Modernica line is a curated selection of Modernica products. The collection includes bespoke pieces offered by the Los Angeles-based brand for auction, including a modern desk, accessories, and the iconic Fiberglass Shell Chair. Crafted in Los Angeles with historic equipment, each Modernica shell chair included in this collection features a North American wood base and a colored shell.

Apart from furniture and accessories, Modernica also launched an exclusive collection of limited-edition t-shirts. For 72 hours, all profits from the sales of the tees went to the Autotype Emerging Designer Scholarship Fund. You can still support the cause on the Autotype site. 10% from the sales of Modernica products will go to the scholarship and you’ll also receive a beautiful item. The prices range from $35 for the tees to $399.00 for the custom-made chair.

Open to all students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or an art or design extension program, the scholarship provides assistance to young creatives in their academic studies. Autotype offers $1,000 scholarships for five different categories. They include design, vehicle design, and furniture design as well as photography and fine art. You can find out more about the design collective’s mission to help the next generation of creatives on Autotype’s website. Photographs© Autotype and Modernica.
