After the success of August Wheelworks, a custom wheel manufacturing company that has produced beautifully crafted wheels for world champions, high speed track bikes and riders from all over the world, engineer and passionate bike rider Gav Buxton founded August Bicycles in 2015. Launched in 2016, the first bikes won a couple of awards right off the bat at the Bespoked show and signaled that this is brand worth watching. Thankfully, bike lovers didn’t have to wait long for the next design.
This commuter bike is built with an elegant frame which boasts a subtle neutral color. Contrasting bright orange accents appear on the front rack, fender struts and frame, while the hand grips and Brooks saddle are a darker gray. Custom features include integrated dynamo lighting and the removable rack system. The single-speed commuter also comes with an XT drivetrain and Grand Bois tires; paired with the spacious rack, they make this sleek bicycle a perfect choice for urban commuting in style.
