The Amhara 15 Backpack by Azo Equipment

An elegantly simple backpack made with both function and durability in mind.

Inspired by an expedition in Ethiopia, London-based Azo Equipment was established in 2005. Since then, the brand has been making equipment and accessories for travelers who value quality and durability just as much as they appreciate good design. The Amhara 15 Backpack is a great example. It has a minimalist aesthetic and a stylish appearance, but this backpack’s design also puts a focus on performance. Made with top quality British waxed cotton, the backpack is weatherproof and durable. Plus, it features some of the best metal hardware available: Austri Alpin Cobra Metal Buckles.

Apart from a large main compartment, this backpack also compresses easily when needed. In terms of functional features, the Amhara 15 Backpack shines with a capacity of 26 liters, an interior sleeve for a 15’’ laptop, and a Snowlock drawcord. Storage options include a mesh zippered pocket and a top lid zippered pocket. Leather accents appear both on the zip pulls and on the logo patches. Other features include leather or fabric padded shoulder straps that enhance comfort, a leather carry handle, and a 10mm coiled zip for the main compartment. The Amhara 15 Backpack comes in several color options: Olive Green, Dark Olive, Black, and Graphite Gray. Customers can also choose the leather detailing color from seven options, or they can select a fabric version.

In a welcome twist, Azo Equipment pushes things to another level with a thoughtful approach to backpack manufacturing: customization. Apart from the option to ask for certain features, customers can also choose the sizing, colors, and materials. Design solutions for specific uses (say, a backpack suitable for photo gear) also opens up a wide range of customization possibilities, as the brand can adapt the backpack to suit the needs of different users.
