Monthly collections launched to celebrate Alessi’s 100th anniversary.

In 2021, renowned Italian brand Alessi turns 100. To celebrate the occasion, the company has launched a special collection that honors Alessi’s design values as well as the leading designers who have created iconic products for the company over the years. Named Alessi 100 Values Collection, the project will introduce 12 new products and ranges every month, until April 2022. The monthly releases will feature either previously unreleased products or new versions of beloved classics. All of them will focus on a specific Alessi value, with designs from world-famous designers like Ettore Sottsass (founder of the Memphis Group and a leading figure of the Radical Design movement), Philippe Starck, Alessandro Mendini, Enzo Mari, Snøhetta, and more.

The inaugural Industrial Craftsmanship collection pays homage to the visionary spirit of Ettore Sottsass. This chapter brings his Twergi line back to life in new colors. Inspired by artisanal wood-turning techniques, the collection comprises wooden jars, corkscrews, pepper mills, and spice grinders. Originally introduced in the late 1980s, this Alessi range now comes in new, vibrant color combinations. The objects feature matte and lacquered finishes as well as combinations of bright colors like red, yellow, orange, and pink colors alongside black or white.

The collection also celebrates the brand’s dedication to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship even while using mass production systems. Apart from Ettore Sottsass’ designs, the first Alessi 100 Value Collection also includes other products. They include a photo holder created by Bortolani Becchelli Associati, a photo frame by Kuno Prey, and a bottle opener by Andrea Branzi. The following months, Alessi will launch collections centered around the concepts of Research, Poetry, Art, Irony, Beyond, and Transgression, among others. Photographs© Alessi.
