Elegant and minimalist, the Tooy lighting collections illuminate spaces with refined Italian design.

Established by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei, Tooy is an Italian brand that makes purposeful, minimalist, and decorative lighting for residential, commercial, and hospitality use. The designs keep traditional craftsmanship and refined Italian style in balance with innovation and experimentation. Simple and sophisticated, the Tooy lighting ranges aim to tell a story with light while providing a functional way to illuminate spaces. They also proudly promote the “Made in Italy” tradition and feature premium materials with elegant finishes. Designer Corrado Dotti has created ten of the 2020 Tooy lighting collections, while Roberto Giacomucci has designed the Quadrante and Bilancella ranges.

A modern interpretation of the classic conical diffuser, the Gordon series has a strong character thanks to the shape of the brass shade. Sculptural supports enhance the design further. Both versatile and practical, these lamps suit any space, from cozy bedrooms to offices or coffee shops. This Tooy lighting collection includes pendant lights, table and floor lamps, as well as ceiling lights and wall lights. Featuring orthogonal structures and angular frames, the Osman series brings an avant-garde accent to interiors. This stylish collection also combines metallic detailing with double-wall cylindrical diffusers that create a soft glow. From the wall lamps to the intricate chandeliers, this range easily creates a focal point in a room.

Several collections draw inspiration from vintage designs. For example, the Nabila series looks to the 1950s for inspiration; it features spherical lights enriched with brass or black chrome detailing. Likewise, Muse boasts metal domes with a neo-vintage design; polished brass or bright copper finishes give these lamps and pendant lights a refined touch. A nod to Art Deco, the Excalibur collection uses rectangular brass panels to wrap the light in a stylish decorative design. Macao, Filipa, and Lilly draw inspiration from the East. While Macao and Filipa reference traditional Japanese and Chinese lanterns respectively, Lilly pays homage to the simple refinement and understatement of Asian minimalist design.

Contemporary and versatile, the Molly range combines domes with a brushed brass, copper, or pewter finish and plexiglass screens. Diamond patterns ensure an optimal spread of the light. Inspired by classic Murano glass diffusers, the Legier collection has a delicate beauty. These lamps and hanging lights come with either opal white or fumè glass in curved forms. They also feature gray, copper, or brass details.

Roberto Giacomucci’s Tooy lighting ranges both have minimalist designs and modular suspensions but strikingly different characters. While the Bilancella lights feature simple rounded forms with adjustable wires, the Quadrante series has an industrial aesthetic with welded powder-coated steel pipes and tubular lights arranged in a grid system. Made in Italy, all Tooy products are crafted to last and to look fantastic with their timeless design.
