A stylish, eco-friendly linen pinafore apron designed to stay clean for longer.

Freitag knows a thing or two about sustainability, green manufacturing, and function. After introducing a range of bags, backpacks, and wallets crafted from recycled truck tarps and old seat belts, the Swiss brand has launched the perfect barbecue and kitchen apron for environmentally conscious consumers. Originally developed for restaurant industry professionals, the linen pinafore apron is now available for all cooking fans and gardening aficionados. Named Freitag E903, the apron features the brand’s innovative F-abric material.

The Freitag Broken Twill textile boasts 81% linen and 19% hemp. This blend makes the fabric tear-proof and scrub-resistant as well as 100% biodegradable. Made with non-toxic techniques, the all-natural E903 Apron is already one of the most eco-friendly you can find. However, the fabric truly shines when you get to put it in action: at the barbecue or the kitchen stove. Since the material absorbs odors slower than classic cotton or synthetic fibers, it requires less frequent washing. Plus, the E903 Apron only needs a washing temperature of 30°C to look like new again.

Designed with a pinafore style, the apron also features three pockets and an adjustable neck loop. After removing the F-buttons, the fabric becomes entirely biodegradable – not that you’ll want to part with your favorite apron anytime soon. Available now online and at selected Freitag stores, the E903 linen pinafore apron costs $150 and comes in Industrial Green and Dark Blue colors. Photographs© Yves Bachmann.
