The Booles Concrete Tableware Line

View all 7 Photos

A minimalist and elegant concrete tableware collection.

Created by German designer Markus Hofko, founder of the Von Morgen brand, the Booles tableware line stuns with its ultra-clean aesthetic and ingenious use of an urban material. Made of concrete, the bowls from the collection boast a perfectly smooth surface and rims as well as gorgeous colors. The distinctive shape references the Boolean formula. Here, the designer created the curved silhouette by subtracting a sphere from a cylinder. Timeless and versatile, the bowls and vessels come in three sizes to suit a range of uses: Slim, Mid, and Wide. The items can hold dry food or fruit, jewelry, keys, decorative objects, or succulents.

The food-safe liquid glass treatment makes the bowls waterproof, while the beeswax finish provides limited oil resistance. Finally, transparent rubber feet ensure that the concrete tableware won’t damage smooth or delicate surfaces. The Booles line includes both a set and individual items. The two set options feature either cool or warm color palettes, while the separate objects come in up to eight colors. These range from dark gray to turquoise, yellow, and white, to blend into any kitchen. Crafted in a small workshop in southern Germany, each product is finished by hand. Photographs© Van Morgen.
