Press Mirror By Philippe Malouin

View all 1 Photos

As many creatives know too well, some good ideas come from unexpected places. One good example? The Press Mirror, which actually took shape during the process of making a shelf bracket. Canadian-born and London-based designer Philippe Malouin saw the design’s potential and began developing the simple and ingenious concept for the minimalist mirror, launched through the design-focused Umbra Shift store.

Made from a single steel tube, the Press Mirror features a round base which allows the user to place the object on a flat surface or hold it in one hand. The flattened top boasts a polished surface. Each tube’s composition varies slightly, thus ensuring that the mirrors are one-of-a-kind. A practical product and sculptural object at the same time, Press Mirror blends creativity and function with minimalist design.
