Design, Italians do it better

Bell Fragrance Dispenser By Sottovoce

View all 5 Photos

Some designs take inspiration from the natural world while others reference minimal shapes and geometry. And then there’s the Bell fragrance dispenser, which pays homage not to a palpable material or object from nature, but to a beloved book and character. Inspired by “The Little Prince” written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this home fragrance dispenser suffuses interiors with a touch of poetry and beauty. The elegant object was designed by Sottovoce’s Giorgio Bonaguro and Viviana Maggiolini and it blends a poetic concept with modern design, style and function.

Just like the prince’s glass dome which protects his precious rose, the 2-piece dispenser keeps the fragrance covered. The bottle and the bell fit together in a unitary piece, so even when not in use, Bell makes an impression in a contemporary decor. When in use, the action of covering and uncovering the bottle activates or pauses the release of the scent, giving the design a new dimension. The stylish Bell collection is made by Italian company Ichendorf from borosilicate glass and comes in three finishes: transparent, gold and “rigadin” finish. Photography by Andrea Basile Studio.
