The Nomadic House Furniture Trend

View all 8 Photos

Straight from Salone del Mobile.Milano’s Trend Lab comes a new concept explored by many furniture collections launching later this year. The nomadic lifestyle, adapted to the contemporary way of living and urbanized for the modern home. The current generation of young professionals, or urban nomads, directly influenced this recent trend. Always on the move, connected, living in homes where work, lounge and socializing areas often intertwine.

Portable, flexible, convenient, as well as beautifully designed, the nomadic furniture of 2017 adapts to different spaces and changing environments.

Flexibility and mobility are two key characteristics of the lifestyle. The Nomadic House trend features modular products, elegant designs that are versatile and easy to arrange in different configurations. Portable, flexible, convenient, as well as beautifully designed, the nomadic furniture of 2017 adapts to different spaces and changing environments. It’s the kind of furniture you can easily take with you, whether from an apartment to another or from the city to a rural location.

Designs that embody these traits include the Urban Nomad Sofa by Hungarian brand Hannabi, the multifunctional diPende designed by Lorenzo Dalla Benetta and Luca and Simone Giordani, or Greycork’s practical collection that can be flat-packed and assembled without any tools. We’ll surely see all of these products and more at the 56th edition of the international furniture fair. This year, it takes place between 4-9 April.
