Annual Calendar Light By Ochs und Junior

View all 8 Photos

Following the success of the Annual Calendar watch designed by co-founder Ludwig Oechslin, Ochs und Junior have launched a lighter version that maintains the same striking design. Based in Lucerne, Switzerland, the company produces watches with a distinct style.

Analogue dot or square indications, an elegant and minimalist style, and a refusal to add text or logos anywhere on the surface of the watches create the unique look of the Ochs und Junior designs. This model is made with aluminum to reduce the weight by over 35% from the already light Annual Calendar, while milling techniques and buckle and strap replacements were also used to achieve the impressive 39.97g weight for the 39mm model. The case is made out of hypoallergenic grade 5 titanium, just like the previous version, but the buckle is a hand-made Kevlar strap with a carbon fiber buckle, tailor-made for each owner by Bern-based textile designer Sabina Brägger.

Maintaining the workshop’s philosophy, each watch is hand-made and assembled using individually manufactured components. Open-ended customization is also offered to clients, and co-founder Beat Weinmann personally handles every customization project, working directly with the owner. Only 10 Annual Calendar Light watches will be made this year and they will be available in a 39mm and a 42mm version. Images courtesy of Ochs und Junior.
