Greenwich Mean Time Keeps Ticking

Scotland’s Paulin Watches aim to amend the once thriving watchmaking industry of the UK through efficient, economical, and high-quality timepieces that are meant to last. Lucky for us, the brand has finally landed on this side of the Atlantic – with Gessato as a proud US retailer. The line falls into the world of “affordable luxury,” created with a universally appealing, minimal aesthetic that exudes a sense of simple sophistication.

Although there are few differences between Paulin’s design and the familiar wristwatch archetype, many aspects of the creative process and treatment of materials demonstrate the novelty of their approach. A Japanese Miyota Quartz movement is housed in the brushed stainless steel case that speaks to modern methods of production, while a thick Italian brown leather strap secures their watches in both comfort and style. Complete with crystal-domed mineral glass, each piece is conceived and comes together right in the UK from Paulin’s manufacturing unit in Glasgow.

Their clean concept manifests itself in three distinct styles: the C50 (28mm diameter), the S75 (37mm), and the C200 (40mm) – which will have chronograph functions in a 24 hour dial, 30 minute and 60 second stopwatch. Each piece is water resistant up to 5 ATM and is packaged in an attractive, well-considered presentation box. The sleek styles, available in brushed stainless steel or rose gold, are an incredibly versatile addition to every person’s everyday. Starting at a mere £120.00, the elegant system provides an affordable and accessible entry to the growing world of good design. Get yours right here from Gessato’s online shop.
