Mighty Mouse Apartment

View all 8 Photos

Playfully named after Mighty Mouse, this studio by architect Nicholas Gurney can be found in Woolloomooloo, Australia. A small space with strong features, the apartment takes after the cult favorite cartoon and rocks a palette of white, gray, black, yellow, and red. The white walls and gray marble floors make the area seem larger by reflecting the natural light coming through the windows. Meanwhile, the matte black kitchen draws the eye, and the long lines of the interior lighting bring movement to the space. The built-in yellow shelves add color but not bulk. Sliding doors reveal the bedroom in red, a nested space with additional storage. Youthful yet polished, the compact design packs a powerful punch.
