Kasper de Backer’s E-Bike

View all 14 Photos

This electric bike is a prototype by Kasper de Backer, a design student at Howest University. While more handsome than the average e-bike, this slim wooden bike is possibly more attractive than practical. In its current incarnation, there are no pedals, and the designer says the crankset is yet to come. Nonetheless, this early model shows promise, as its minimalist, neutral palette is a fresh, more natural take on how to make e-bikes.
